Bessent says Iran's economy to contract by more than 25% by March 2027, urges Iranians to stop paying taxes and stock up on fuel

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, in an interview with Iran International, said the Islamic Republic's economy would contract by more than 25% between March 2026 and March 2027. He also urged Iranians to stop paying taxes and stock up on gasoline and heating fuel ahead of expected shortages.
