IEA's Birol says agency to consider releasing more oil from emergency reserves if needed

IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol said the agency is ready to release more oil from emergency reserves if needed, noting members have already released 80% of the existing release. He said release timing depends on individual countries and the market, and sees little prospect of a return to normal market conditions in 2027 amid ongoing supply disruptions.
