Nearly 1,400 crypto firms lose EU licenses under MiCA as only ~300 of 3,000+ gain authorization

Under the fully enforced EU MiCA regime, nearly 1,400 crypto firms lost their license to operate in the EU. Only 323 firms were on ESMA's licensed register when updated in late July, far short of the roughly 1,700 expected to need one, out of 3,000+ crypto firms. Scammers are reportedly impersonating the regulators who revoked the licenses.
