NXP to supply S32K5 microcontrollers for Rivian-Volkswagen zonal SDV architecture

NXP Semiconductors announced a strategic partnership to supply its S32K5 microcontrollers as a foundational component for the zonal software-defined vehicle (SDV) architecture being developed by Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies, LLC, the 50/50 joint venture between the two automakers. The first vehicles using the platform are expected to launch in 2027.
