A Panama-flagged tanker, identified as RITI, was damaged when fighters in a speedboat attached explosives to it in the Strait of Hormuz, the first attack of its sort in the current conflict and a tactic Iran has used before against commercial shipping. Oman's Royal Navy evacuated 25 crew members after the vessel caught fire 1.6 nautical miles off Musandam, northern Oman, according to the Maritime Security Centre.
