Uber expands autonomous vehicle partnerships, plans NVIDIA-powered robotaxis in 28 cities by 2028

Uber announced an expansion of its autonomous vehicle strategy, including plans to deploy robotaxis powered by NVIDIA software across 28 cities by 2028. It is partnering with Nuro for autonomous services and has secured agreements for at least 35,000 Lucid vehicles and an initial fleet of 10,000 Rivian R2 SUVs starting in 2028, with an option for 40,000 additional Rivian vehicles from 2030.
