Utah charges Kalshi and co-founders Tarek Mansour and Luana Lopes Lara with 14 criminal counts over illegal gambling

Utah has charged Kalshi and its co-founders Tarek Mansour and Luana Lopes Lara with 14 criminal counts over alleged illegal gambling: one felony count alleging a pattern of unlawful activity, 12 felony counts of promoting online gambling, and one misdemeanor count. The state attorney general says calling it a 'prediction market' doesn't make it legal. The CFTC is separately suing to block Utah's enforcement.
