Vistra completes acquisition of Cogentrix Energy, adding 5,500 MW of gas generation

Vistra Corp. announced the completion of its acquisition of Cogentrix Energy from funds managed by Quantum Capital Group. The deal adds 10 natural gas generation facilities totaling approximately 5,500 MW, expanding Vistra's presence in PJM, ISO New England, and ERCOT markets and bringing its generation capacity to nearly 50,000 MW.
