Actinide claims first startup enrichment of natural uranium into HALEU range

Texas startup Actinide announced it became the first startup to enrich natural uranium into the HALEU range, a critical fuel for US reactors. This follows the 2024 Prohibiting Russian Uranium Imports Act which removed roughly 44% of global enrichment capacity controlled by Russia, with DOE funding a $900M HALEU task for US licensee Centrus Energy.
