BIST 100 rebounds 1.08% after SPK orders liquidation of 130 funds at 7 brokerages; Financial Stability Committee says no structural risk

Turkey's Financial Stability Committee, chaired by Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek, ended its September 17 meeting after the BIST 100 fell more than 5%, saying there is no fundamental or structural risk to Borsa İstanbul and capital markets. The SPK has since ordered the liquidation of 130 funds at 7 brokerages, with investors pulling up to $1bn from funds in a single day; the BIST 100 has now risen 1.08% following the SPK's measures.
