Turkey's Financial Stability Committee ends Borsa İstanbul meeting as BIST 100 falls over 5%; SPK orders 130 funds liquidated

Turkey's Financial Stability Committee, chaired by Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek, ended its September 17 meeting after the BIST 100 fell more than 5%, saying there is no fundamental or structural risk to Borsa İstanbul and capital markets. The SPK has since ordered the liquidation of 130 funds at 7 brokerages, with investors pulling up to $1bn from funds in a single day.
