Bitcoin tops $86,000 for first time in eight months, triggering $740M in crypto liquidations

Bitcoin rose above $86,000 on 21 September, its first time above that level since January, after climbing from about $80,800. Total crypto liquidations over 24 hours reached about $740 million, with roughly $575 million of that in short positions over the past 12 hours. Strategy bought $80.5 million of bitcoin and $174 million of STRC stock last week.
