Bitcoin tops $87,000 for first time in eight months, triggering $740M in crypto liquidations

Bitcoin rose above $87,000 on 21 September, its first time above that level since January, after climbing from about $80,800. Crypto liquidations over 24 hours hit about $740 million, roughly $575 million in shorts, with $618 million in net taker volume on Binance in one hour wiping out over $400 million in shorts. Strategy bought 950 BTC for $75.7 million, taking holdings to 846,000 BTC.
