BoE's Breeden: 'increasingly appropriate' for rates to respond to rising inflation

Bank of England Deputy Governor Sarah Breeden said it is "increasingly appropriate" for rates to respond to rising inflation, and that it is increasingly likely the BoE will need to respond if risks crystallise. She said the balance of risks has shifted, the path to lower energy prices is not obvious, and indirect pass-through of energy price rises has so far been limited.
