Brent-WTI price gap hits $13.85, widest in over a decade, as shipping costs surge

Brent crude traded at $106.30 a barrel Monday, a $13.85 premium to WTI at $92.45, nearly double the $7.08 gap of Sept. 21 and more than triple the $4.02 of July 2. The post attributes the widening gap less to a threatened US diesel export ban than to the extraordinary cost of transporting oil.
