Canada inflation rises to 3.1% in September, below 3.2% forecast

Canada's annual inflation accelerated to 3.1% in September, below the 3.2% forecast, as higher oil prices pushed up energy costs. Monthly CPI rose 0.1%, also below expectations. Core pressures eased: core median 1.9%, core trim 1.8%, ex food and energy 2.1%.
