Chevron shuts in production at five Gulf of America facilities as Isaias strengthens to hurricane

Chevron has shut in production at five of its Gulf of America facilities as Tropical Storm Isaias strengthened into a Category 1 hurricane tracking toward the Gulf Coast. The Marine Minerals Administration said Gulf producers have shut in 1.3 million b/d of crude, about 63% of regional output, with 1.1 Bcf/d of natural gas also offline.
