Drift Protocol opens DFX claims for April 1 hack victims, initial payouts just over 1% of losses

Drift Protocol (now Velocity) has opened DFX claims and redemptions for victims of the April 1 North Korea-linked hack: 1 DFX is issued per 1 USDT lost, redeemable for USDT from a recovery pool holding about $3.11m, with up to $127.5m pledged by Tether. Initial payouts cover just over 1% of user losses; claims close January 1, 2028.
