France conducts first test launch of M51.3 nuclear-capable ballistic missile

France conducted its first test launch of the upgraded M51.3 submarine-launched ballistic missile off the coast of Brittany, launched from the nuclear submarine Le Vigilant. The unarmed missile fell into the North Atlantic hundreds of kilometers from shore. President Macron said the test demonstrated the credibility of France's nuclear deterrent.
