FTC confirms it subpoenaed OpenAI and Anthropic over AI safety incidents

The Federal Trade Commission confirmed it sent civil subpoenas to Anthropic and OpenAI seeking documents on safety incidents, privacy policies and safeguards, as part of a consumer protection probe launched this summer. The subpoenas were first reported by Axios.
