Iran appeals court upholds death sentence of January 8 protest detainee, sources say

An appeals court in Iran has upheld the death sentence of Omid Goudarzvand Chegini, 37, arrested during the January 8 protests in Qazvin, sources told Iran International. The former police employee was tried without access to a lawyer, the sources said.
