Iran's Revolutionary Guards said a crude-oil supertanker exploded and caught fire after striking a naval mine while attempting to leave the Strait of Hormuz through what Tehran described as an unauthorized route, with its transponder switched off, Iranian state media reported. UKMTO received a report of a vessel struck by debris from unknown projectiles west of Al Jazeera, UAE, causing a fire since extinguished.
