Israel shuts East Jerusalem British consulate, removes its signage, expels consul general and most staff

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said 20 British diplomats and the Consul General will leave the UK consulate in occupied East Jerusalem, with only seven staff allowed to remain, after Israel decided to shut the consulate over UK sanctions on Israelis. Israel has also downgraded the consulate's status and removed its official signage.
