Italy cuts 2028 defence budget deviation to 0.3% of GDP from 0.6%, Giorgetti says

Italy's government cut the extra 2028 defence spending increase to 0.3% of GDP from 0.6%, Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti said, after approving a budget deviation (scostamento di bilancio) worth 0.6% of GDP in both 2027 and 2028 to fund energy and defence measures, with the deficit at 3.5%.
