Italy's deficit confirmed at 3.1% of GDP, keeping it in EU excessive-deficit procedure

Italy's statistics agency Istat confirmed the 2025 deficit at 3.1% of GDP, meaning Italy will not exit the EU excessive-deficit procedure early. Finance Minister Giorgetti said the government takes note "with regret" and expects to exit in 2027.
