Japan Q3 Tankan: large manufacturers' sentiment at 24, big firms plan 11.3% capex rise, small firms see 4.7% capex fall

The Bank of Japan's Q3 Tankan showed the large manufacturers' sentiment index at 24, below the 25 estimate and up from 22, with the outlook at 21. Large non-manufacturers came in at 35 versus a 36 estimate, and large all-industry capital expenditure plans rose 11.3%, under the 12.2% estimate. Small firms forecast a 4.7% decline in FY2026/27 capex, versus a 4.9% drop expected.
