Lavrov meets German foreign minister Wadephul at UNGA, first Russia-Germany foreign ministers' talks in 4.5 years

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met Germany's foreign minister Johann Wadephul on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, the first such meeting in about 4.5 years; the previous one was in January 2022, weeks before the invasion of Ukraine. Russian spokeswoman Zakharova said Germany requested the talks. The meeting lasted slightly more than 20 minutes.
