MNB holds base rate, cuts inflation target to 2.5% from 2028, raises inflation forecast

The National Bank of Hungary left its base rate unchanged and lowered its inflation target to 2.5% from the current 3%, effective 2028, a change to the central bank's medium-term framework announced by Mihály Varga. In its quarterly Inflation Report the MNB revised its inflation expectations up and its economic growth forecast down.
