Netanyahu says he phoned Syria's al-Sharaa to press him to halt violence against Druze

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he personally called Syrian President al-Sharaa last year as Druze were being massacred in Suwayda, and that the killing stopped after the call. He said Israel destroyed Syria's Defense Ministry and struck a sensitive site in Damascus's Presidential Palace complex in 2025, and that his call to al-Sharaa was very brief.
