Three survivors told Reuters that Nigerian prison guards sprayed an unidentified substance into an overcrowded cell holding dozens of detained gold miners near Minna and kept the doors locked, killing 37 detainees. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps is the paramilitary body involved.
