North Korea launched a solid-fuel intermediate-range missile from the Wonsan area at about 06:30 Korea time on 3 October, with Kim Jong Un present, South Korea's joint chiefs said, tracking it more than 700 km. Japan's defense ministry tracked it about 680 km, peaking near 90 km. North Korea said the missile used AI guidance able to change flight path at low altitude.
