Philippines sends largest ship, aircraft to drive away Chinese vessel near Taiwan

The Philippines deployed its largest coast guard ship, the 97-meter BRP Teresa Magbanua, and an aircraft to drive away the Chinese research vessel JIA HAI KE 7, which had been loitering about 37 nautical miles off the northern Philippines near Taiwan, Reuters reports. It is the latest maritime friction between Manila and Beijing.
