Qubic halts network after exploit drains 1,404 wallets, freezing 87.1% of stolen funds

Qubic validators halted the network after an exploit drained 1,404 wallets of about 2.94 trillion QU (roughly $1.3 million). The attack targeted weak wallet seeds generated on iPhones, iPads, or Safari on Mac before October 18, 2026. The halt immobilized 87.1% of stolen funds on chain; the rest were frozen on MEXC. The seed flaw, not the protocol, was patched in version 4.26.4.
