Starbucks to close 250 North American stores by end of this week, COO says

Starbucks is closing about 250 underperforming North American locations by the end of this week, Chief Operating Officer Mike Grams said in a public letter, part of a restructuring that also cuts 900 jobs and carries roughly $300M in charges, per a regulatory filing. The company had said most closures would come by the end of FY26 under CEO Brian Niccol's "Back to Starbucks" turnaround.
