Taiwan stocks hit intraday record 48,601 before late-session gains fade; turnover surges to NT$1.02tn

Taiwan's benchmark index touched a new intraday high of 48,601 points before its advance shrank sharply into the close, with turnover ballooning to NT$1.02 trillion, according to ETtoday. The index had earlier closed at a record 47,800, up 81 points, led by MediaTek and ASE Technology with TSMC reversing positive.
