Ukraine's NBU raises key rate to 16%, warns inflation will be higher in coming months

The National Bank of Ukraine set its key policy rate at 16% on 17 September, a move a majority of surveyed bankers had expected, and warned inflation will be higher in the coming months. The NBU estimates a possible VAT increase to 21% would add 0.4-0.7 percentage points to inflation.
