UN/WMO warns 'supersized' El Niño may become strongest ever recorded
The World Meteorological Organization, via the UN, said the El Niño weather phenomenon is set to intensify further into 2027 and could be the strongest ever recorded. The UN also warned global temperatures are likely to exceed the 1.5°C warming threshold within the next few years, increasing risks of extreme heat, floods, droughts and rising seas.
