US 30-year mortgage rate jumps to 7.30%, highest since Nov 2023, as applications fall 6%

The average 30-year fixed mortgage rate climbed to 7.30%, up 18 basis points in a week and the highest since November 2023, according to the MBA. Mortgage applications fell 6.0% for the week, after a 1.5% drop the prior week.
