US crude oil inventories fall 8.557M barrels in week to Oct 9, DOE data shows

US DOE weekly data for the week ended Oct 9 showed crude oil inventories fell 8.557 million barrels, versus an expected 0.3 million draw and a prior 3.186 million draw. Cushing crude stocks rose 1.862 million barrels, gasoline rose 3.518 million against a 0.5 million draw estimate, and distillate rose 2.527 million.
