Ten-year government bond yields in the US, Germany and Japan rose to multi-year highs in the same week, an unusual simultaneous move across three markets that normally do not move in step. The US 10-year yield reached 5.18%, its highest since the financial crisis; the German 10-year hit 3.58%, the highest since 2009, and the Japanese 10-year stood at 3.07%.
