US S&P Global manufacturing PMI rises to 55.9 in September, highest since May 2022

The S&P Global US manufacturing PMI rose to 55.9 in September from 53.9, the highest since May 2022, with factory hiring at the fastest pace in over five years. S&P said AI-related machinery and equipment spending drove demand, while export orders fell for a 15th straight month.
