Maintain at least two constituent aggregates: cap-weighted and equal-weighted. Consider a third measure that caps the contribution of any one stock. Publish the methodology beside the number, including universe date, weights, missing-data rule, and minimum social-volume threshold. Without that metadata, historical comparisons become unreliable when constituents or attention patterns change.
